About us:

Established in 1993, Fairchild Radio Group is Canada’s only national multicultural radio network. With operations in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary, Fairchild Radio has been serving the multicultural communities of Canada with three FM and two AM stations. CJVB-AM1470 is Vancouver’s most established, most complete multicultural radio station, and with the addition of CHKG-FM96.1 in 1997, Fairchild Radio has been able to target the fast growing Mandarin-speaking audience in Vancouver as well.

Our Vancouver office is now looking for a Full-time and Part-time News Reporter in Cantonese Division.

Job Duties:

• Reporting and editing on local news, press conferences, traffic conditions and events;
• Chinese – English – Chinese translating and writing scripts
• Reading news on air
• Creating content for the web and other multimedia platforms

Qualifications:

• University degree/diploma or equivalent experience in the industry;
• Excellent presentation and writing skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese);
• Ability to work as a member of a team and on your own;
• Ability to deal with tight deadlines and work evening and night shifts.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are preferred
